Software Engineer – Build Systems (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer specialized in Build Systems to design, implement, and maintain the core infrastructure that powers large‑scale software delivery. You will work remotely with a global team of top‑tier engineers, ensuring fast, reliable, and reproducible builds across our monorepo environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and manage high‑performance build systems for large monorepos.
• Implement and maintain hermetic build environments to guarantee consistent results.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines using advanced caching and task orchestration to reduce lead times.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enforce modular boundaries and dependency‑management standards.
• Monitor build performance metrics and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
• Develop custom tooling and automation to simplify integration and release processes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Build Engineering, or DevOps.
• Proven expertise designing and managing large‑scale build systems with Bazel.
• Strong experience with monorepo tooling and build performance optimization.
• Proficiency in hermetic builds and CI optimization using Buildkite or similar tools.
• Deep understanding of dependency management and incremental build caching.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
