About the role

The IT Operations and Monitoring Officer is responsible for overseeing the health of systems in the data centre, ensuring daily processes run smoothly and that the alternate site is continuously monitored for any incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor active systems in the data centre and report any issues promptly.
• Execute closure of CoreBanks modules and other applications when errors occur to prevent impact on next‑day operations.
• Monitor and report the replication status of critical IT services to the alternate (DR) site.
• Provide periodic status reports for 24x7 services.
• Run and supervise corporate backup processes to guarantee data availability.
• Report, channel and assist in resolving incidents arising from daily closing processes.
• Execute batch jobs and large‑scale data loads outside regular branch hours.

Required profile

• Final‑year student in Informatics or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in Unix/Solaris operations.
• Willingness to work extended hours and holidays.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, AS‑400 systems and basic database concepts.
