Support Engineer – Veterinary HealthTech

About the role

The Support Engineer works as an independent contractor within the Platform organization, providing dedicated technical support for the Customer Experience team of a veterinary HealthTech company. The role bridges platform engineering and customer operations, handling onboarding, decommissioning, data migrations, and complex ticket resolution with a high degree of autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Customer onboarding: provision environments, configure integrations and import data for new customers.
• Decommissioning: export data, tear down environments and revoke access for off‑boarded customers.
• Data migrations: perform structured migrations, validate transformations and ensure data integrity.
• Technical ticket resolution: own and resolve complex tickets from the CX team, including environment configuration and bulk data updates.
• CX partnership: collaborate with Customer Success and Implementation managers to set timelines and communicate outcomes in plain language.
• Documentation and process improvement: maintain runbooks, capture customer‑specific settings and develop automation to reduce ticket volume.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with core AWS services (RDS, S3, EC2, ECS) and ability to run smoke tests.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub for creating, reviewing and merging pull requests.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, able to lead customer calls and produce clear documentation.
• Understanding of basic security hygiene, data‑privacy best practices and least‑privilege principles.
• Experience with ticketing/help‑desk platforms such as Jira, Intercom or Front.
