Restaurant Manager

About the role

AC Hotels is hiring a full-time Restaurant Manager in Santiago, Dominican Republic, covering restaurants, bars and room service. The role supervises daily restaurant operations, supports menu planning, keeps sanitation standards and helps servers and hosts during peak meal periods, while improving guest and employee satisfaction and the financial performance of the area.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage employees, understand their positions and cover their duties in their absence
• Maintain service and sanitation standards in the restaurant, bar/lounge and room service areas
• Review staffing levels to meet guest service, operational and financial objectives
• Lead the food and beverage team, coach and mentor staff, and set clear expectations and goals
• Ensure compliance with food and beverage policies, laws and regulations, and with food handling and sanitation standards
• Monitor alcohol beverage service in line with local laws
• Deliver exceptional customer service, handle guest complaints and gather feedback to drive continuous improvement
• Manage human resources: set performance standards, run training programs, treat employees fairly and improve retention
• Oversee the financial aspects of the department, including purchasing and invoice payments
• Assist servers and hosts during busy periods and supervise shifts in the absence of the Assistant Restaurant Manager

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or a 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field
• 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary or a related profession, or 2 years of experience with a 2-year degree
• Previous experience in rooftop bars, bars and/or restaurants
