About the role
The Special Investigations Manager leads independent investigations of complaints, irregularities, fraud, conflicts of interest and critical events that could affect the financial, operational, ethical or reputational integrity of the bank. The role ensures investigations are objective, evidence‑based and comply with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (NOGAI), anti‑fraud best practices and corporate ethics. Findings are delivered to the Audit Committee and senior management as reliable, timely and actionable information for decision‑making and corrective actions.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and direct special investigations arising from complaints, alerts, audit findings or specific requests.
- Define scope, methodology and investigative lines for each case to ensure thorough, objective reviews.
- Collect, analyze and evaluate documentary, transactional and testimonial evidence.
- Apply data‑analysis techniques, transaction traceability and control reviews to identify patterns, root causes and modus operandi.
- Assess and certify the financial exposure related to material fraud events.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of controls linked to investigated events and identify structural weaknesses.
- Prepare clear, confidential and technically substantiated investigation reports for senior audit leadership and the Audit Committee.
- Communicate relevant findings promptly to appropriate stakeholders and provide recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
- Coordinate with Security, Compliance, Risk, Legal and Human Resources when required, preserving audit independence.
- Perform other duties related to the role as needed.
Required profile
- University degree in Law, Finance, Administration, Accounting or a related field.
- Specialization in Forensic Auditing, Corporate Investigations or Fraud (or equivalent).
- Master’s degree in Compliance, Internal Control, Financial or Criminal Law, Risk Management or a related area.
