Assistant Accountant – Tax and Accounts Payable

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department in tax compliance and accounts payable operations. Reporting to the Accountant‑DR, the role ensures accurate monthly tax filings, manages supplier payments, and assists with treasury activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and validate monthly tax forms (606, 607, 609, IT‑1, IR‑17) and coordinate with external consultants.
• Review and reconcile annual income tax (IR‑2) and transfer pricing documentation.
• Support external auditors by gathering required documentation for financial statement audits.
• Post monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjustments; reconcile assigned balance‑sheet accounts.
• Validate invoice records (RNC, NCF, retention) before posting in the AP module.
• Ensure payable documents follow the Authority Matrix and company policies.
• Process supplier payments, manually apply them in the AP module, and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
• Generate and upload payment files to banking platforms; coordinate cash‑flow planning with the Treasury Manager.
• Perform any additional accounting or administrative tasks as requested by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to detect discrepancies.
• Effective communication, problem‑solving, and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
