Virtual Medical Assistant (Telehealth)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate, detail‑oriented Virtual Medical Assistant to join our Telehealth team. The assistant will prepare patients for virtual consultations by gathering and documenting their medical history, current medications, previous surgeries and existing conditions before connecting them with physicians overseas. This remote position requires strong U.S. medical knowledge and excellent documentation accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients during the telehealth intake process.
• Collect and accurately document patient demographics, medical history, surgeries, diagnoses, allergies and medication lists.
• Review patient information for completeness and accuracy before the consultation.
• Enter all patient data into the medical documentation system with high precision.
• Prepare and organize patient records and coordinate the transition to the physician for the virtual consultation.
• Maintain confidential medical documentation in compliance with privacy standards.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients throughout the intake process.

Required profile

• Background as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), medical student, physician in training, or other healthcare professional with strong medical knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. medical terminology, diagnoses, anatomy and common medications.
• Experience reviewing and documenting patient medical histories is highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and critical‑thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple patient intakes efficiently.
• Excellent English and Spanish communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems (a plus).
