Travel Officer – UN Support Office in Haiti

About the role

The Travel Officer will ensure smooth official travel arrangements and transportation for all personnel serving with the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). The role includes prompt settlement of travel claims and providing up‑to‑date travel‑related information to mission staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and decide on the delivery of travel services across UNSOH, aligning with UN goals and the UN80 initiative.
• Administer official travel arrangements, entitlements, and the issuance and control of UN travel documents and visas.
• Supervise the travel processing group and handle complex cases to ensure compliance with UN rules and travel regulations at minimal cost.
• Oversee budgets of self‑accounting units and control UN property related to travel.
• Manage the Travel Management Services contractor to ensure contractual compliance and service performance.
• Coordinate with other participating agencies to maintain common service standards.
• Liaise with UN global travel community leaders, negotiate corporate discounts with airlines, and secure favorable terms for UNSOH.
• Research, identify, and evaluate new travel solutions and best practices.

Required profile

• Experience in travel management within a UN or international organization.
• Knowledge of UN travel regulations, entitlements, and documentation procedures.
• Ability to supervise staff and contractors and manage budgets of self‑accounting units.
• FS‑6 level competence (or equivalent) and strong decision‑making skills.
