Senior Operational Buyer – Center of Excellence

About the role

The purpose of the position is to support Eaton manufacturing plants and other Eaton locations in the Americas region with operational procurement activities from our Center of Excellence (CoE) offices. The Senior Operational Buyer will handle medium to high complexity networks and assign components to ensure material availability and supplier stability.

Key responsibilities

• Procure direct materials following plant and corporate regulations (QA, SCM) and generate purchase orders (POs) according to demand requirements.
• Communicate and coordinate with network schedulers for plan and execution updates, processing requisitions to provide POs to suppliers.
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery, manage exception messages (postponement, anticipation, cancellation) and handle internal escalations.
• Resolve internal discrepancies with operations and external issues with suppliers such as delivery problems, claims, and quality concerns.
• Collaborate with logistics partners and suppliers to manage material delivery according to Incoterms and evaluate supply performance (SOTD), implementing corrective actions.
• Manage supplier invoices, support resolution of holds for timely payments, and maintain inventory levels in line with objectives.
• Coordinate with Supplier Quality for RMA of defective parts and handle reverse logistics.
• Maintain purchasing data (price, lead time, MOQ, etc.) in collaboration with Data Health and Commodity Team, using digital SCM tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in operational procurement or similar roles.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and maintain high accuracy.
