Senior Mobile Engineer – React Native

About the role

GBH is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to design, implement, and optimise end‑to‑end product features using React Native. You will help build scalable, data‑driven experiences and maintain core repositories for a production‑ready platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own development of new React Native features, including multiple new screens and workflows.
• Drive the Android version of an existing iOS React Native app, porting iOS‑specific implementations to Android equivalents.
• Integrate mobile features with APIs and, when needed, propose or implement API changes in collaboration with the team.
• Review the current codebase, validate architectural assumptions, and identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Improve reliability and performance for core app flows, including video streaming and room feeds.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building mobile applications with React Native and senior‑level ownership of features.
• Proven experience designing scalable, performant, reliable, and maintainable mobile architectures.
• Strong experience integrating with HTTP/REST APIs and collaborating with backend teams.
• Hands‑on experience implementing push notifications using Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android.
• Experience managing app releases on the App Store and Google Play, including certificates and provisioning.
• Experience building video streaming or video feed features with attention to playback performance and network variability.
• Excellent communication skills in remote or hybrid environments.
• Highly self‑directed, able to work with moderately defined requirements and drive tasks to completion.
