Material Handler – Manufacturing & Packaging

About the role

The Material Handler supports the manufacturing and packaging lines by moving, preparing, and delivering all required materials safely and efficiently. You will work closely with supervisors to ensure production runs smoothly and that all materials are correctly identified and documented.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve identified materials from the warehouse and transport them to production cells using hand carts or pallet trucks, respecting a 40 lb weight limit.
• Supply each cell with correctly labeled materials and keep aisles free of obstructions.
• Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to supervisors.
• Collect, sort, weigh, and move scrap material for audit by Finance or Quality.
• Implement style changes as directed by supervisors and verify critical materials.
• Handle packaging supplies (boxes, labels, pallets), cut and assemble boxes, and set up label‑printing machines.
• Print labels according to product specifications and pack finished goods for inspection and shipping.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and 5S/MESH housekeeping requirements.

Required profile

• Physical ability to lift and move items up to 40 lb safely.
• Strong attention to safety and quality procedures.
• Ability to read work orders, BOMs, Kanban cards, and follow detailed instructions.
• Basic math skills for weighing and inventory tracking.
• Effective communication with supervisors and team members.
