Project Engineer I – Medical Device Manufacturing

About the role

The Project Engineer I will support the introduction, improvement, and validation of medical device manufacturing processes at Baxter's Haina facility. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure robust process performance and compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify manufacturing issues and provide timely engineering assistance to production.
• Assist in implementing process and product design changes, material evaluations, and manufacturing techniques.
• Participate in new product and process development from concept through successful manufacturing introduction.
• Execute process and product validations, coordinating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Support validation activities (FOC/COB) and local/divisional engineering projects, ensuring proper documentation.
• Contribute to value‑improvement projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives using Six Sigma tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written).
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and operate in ambiguous environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
• Experience with Six Sigma methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
• Basic project‑management knowledge for supporting small‑scale engineering initiatives.
