About the role
ABB is hiring a Line Product Engineer in Arecibo, reporting to the Product Engineering Manager. The role provides technical assistance for all engineering activities in assignments, ensuring that engineering work across all disciplines is carried out efficiently and cost-effectively. You will work closely with the IPU team, supporting production day by day.
Key responsibilities
- Technical training for the IPU team
- Production support and troubleshooting activities
- Document preparation: work instructions, rework instructions, quality packaging specifications and MTD
- Analyze deviations and alternative materials, and identify materials on the production floor
- Support validation processes such as FFF tests and quality circles, including root cause analysis
- Support engineering change implementation with the Product Engineering team
- Line balancing, routings and cycle time definition
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar
- Positive, proactive and collaborative attitude, clear communicator and results-oriented
- Fluent English
- Knowledge of manufacturing technologies, equipment and tools
- Experience with ABB Smart Power product families is a plus
Required skills
- Very good knowledge of MS Office
- 2D/3D CAD systems
