Product Development & Production Assistant

About the role

G2 Performance, a U.S.-based manufacturer of custom performance apparel for marching bands, color guards and performing arts groups, is hiring a Product Development & Production Assistant in the Dominican Republic. The role moves customer orders from sales through technical development, sampling and into production, working closely with the U.S. Sales team and departments such as Technical Design, Pattern Making, Graphic Arts and Production. Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with Sales to review new orders and designs, then create and maintain technical packages and sample write-ups in Google Sheets, documenting components, construction, fabrics, trims, hardware, artwork placement and manufacturing instructions.
• Create construction callouts and technical drawings, refine design references, and work with Pattern Making to confirm construction feasibility.
• Recommend fabrics, trims and construction methods, coordinate material requirements for samples and production, and track trims and hardware.
• Review artwork from Graphic Arts for technical accuracy, communicate corrections, and coordinate pattern development and sample preparation.
• Review samples against technical documentation, document revisions, edit sample photos in Adobe Photoshop, and obtain approvals before advancing orders to production.
• Lead technical roundtable meetings with Sales, Graphic Arts, Pattern Making and Production, record decisions and issues, and verify that artwork, patterns, materials and production instructions are complete.
• Escalate incomplete or incorrect orders so they do not proceed to manufacturing.
• Manage several customer projects, keeping project records and progress tracked in Trello, and communicate daily with the departments involved.

Required profile

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in garment manufacturing, apparel production, technical design or product development.
• Fluent English and Spanish, written and spoken (mandatory).
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction, sewing methods, fabrics, trims and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to understand and prepare technical garment specifications and construction documentation.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Adobe Illustrator for technical sketches and garment callouts
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
• Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Drive and other productivity tools
• Preferred: education in fashion design, apparel manufacturing, textile or industrial engineering; experience with custom garments, athletic apparel, performance wear or uniforms; familiarity with sublimation printing, pattern making, BOMs and Trello
