Legal Officer – Corporate & Infrastructure Law

About the role

IDB Invest is seeking a Legal Officer for its Corporate and Infrastructure Legal Division. The role supports the legal department in advising senior management, the Board, and the Board of Governors on a wide range of legal matters related to non‑sovereign guaranteed (NSG) operations across the transaction cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice during origination, eligibility, due diligence, structuring, drafting, negotiation, documentation, closing and disbursement of NSG lending, guarantee and technical cooperation activities.
• Advise on moderate to complex portfolio administration, including amendments, waivers, restructurings, workouts and litigation of impaired assets.
• Coordinate with Investment Officers, Credit Risk, ESG, and Portfolio Management teams to ensure efficient deal execution and post‑deal management.
• Support the drafting and regular updating of model financing documentation.
• Identify creative legal solutions for NSG operations of varying complexity.
• Collaborate with attorneys from other multilateral development institutions on complex legal issues.
• Monitor legal trends relevant to the institution’s activities.

Required profile

• Legal professional with experience in finance, infrastructure, or development‑focused transactions.
• Ability to work across functions and manage complex legal documentation.
