About the role
The HR Generalist will manage and execute labor relations processes for a high‑staffed operation, ensuring legal compliance, workforce stability, and a positive organizational climate. The role provides timely support to leaders and employees to maintain operational continuity and productivity.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Dominican labor legislation, handling reports, inspections, and requirements from the Ministry of Labor and other regulators.
- Administer plant‑level labor relations, addressing conflicts, disciplinary actions, and termination processes while maintaining legal consistency.
- Manage employee absenteeism, leaves, permits, and disabilities, guaranteeing accurate records and payroll impact.
- Coordinate social security processes, including sickness, maternity, and occupational risk subsidies.
- Advise operational leaders on personnel management, progressive discipline, performance, and labor decisions in high‑turnover environments.
- Monitor workplace climate and employee engagement through surveys, exit interviews, and corrective actions.
- Oversee performance and development processes, including evaluations, improvement plans, and basic operational training.
- Maintain physical and digital employee files, ensuring traceability, regulatory compliance, and information availability.
Required profile
- University degree in Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in high‑staffed operational settings such as distribution centers, manufacturing, or free‑zone environments.
- Willingness to travel within Santo Domingo (D.N., SDO, SDE) and Haina.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of Dominican Republic labor legislation.
- Understanding of social security systems (subsidies, leaves, occupational risks).
- Expertise in labor conflict resolution and progressive discipline.
- Familiarity with Authorized Economic Operator (OEA) regulations (desirable).
