Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager will join the pre‑opening team of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia, reporting to the Director of Engineering. The role ensures all building systems, equipment and facilities operate safely, efficiently and to Four Seasons standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of Engineering in daily team management and departmental prioritisation.
• Lead pre‑opening activities such as inspections, testing, commissioning, snagging and handover of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration and life‑safety systems.
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programmes across all property systems.
• Assign, monitor and close work orders, ensuring timely and safe completion.
• Recruit, train, schedule, coach and evaluate engineering staff, fostering teamwork and continuous development.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and service providers to ensure compliance with contracts, safety standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Degree, technical diploma or professional certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management or related field.
• 3‑5 years progressive engineering or facilities‑management experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort environment.
• Previous supervisory or management experience with a proven ability to lead a technical team.
• Proficiency in Spanish; working knowledge of English is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and life‑safety systems.
• Experience with preventive‑maintenance and work‑order management programmes.
