Banquet Manager

About the role

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking a Banquet Manager to join the pre‑opening team. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, you will lead all banquet operations, ensuring seamless planning and execution of meetings, weddings, social celebrations and special events.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of banquet operations from setup through post‑event follow‑up.
• Develop SOPs, select equipment, and simulate banquet experiences during pre‑opening.
• Recruit, train, schedule and coach the banquet team, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Review Banquet Event Orders, conduct pre‑event meetings and daily briefings.
• Collaborate with Conference Services, Catering Sales, Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering and other departments.
• Maintain visible leadership during events, anticipate guest needs and ensure service precision.
• Manage inventories of furniture, china, glassware, linens, AV equipment and supplies.
• Monitor labor, beverage controls, equipment costs and identify revenue opportunities.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, Event Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum three years of banquet leadership experience in a luxury hotel, resort or high‑volume events environment.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of banquet service, event setup, BEOs, staffing and food‑safety standards.
• Experience with Opera, point‑of‑sale systems and event‑management or catering software.
