About the role

Proxima, a technology and BPO services company specialized in the insurance industry, is looking for an experienced Accountant and Compliance Officer. You will be responsible for daily accounting operations and ensuring that financial information is accurate, timely, and reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare financial reports and support internal stakeholders such as HR and Operations.
• Ensure compliance with Dominican tax regulations, generate monthly tax filings and TSS calculations.
• Collaborate with the US parent company on technical accounting matters in English.

Required profile

• Authorized Public Accountant (CPA) in the Dominican Republic.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and Dominican tax compliance.
• High level of English to hold technical conversations with the US headquarters.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and reliability.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with QuickBooks or Wave (preferred).
