Construction Project Manager

About the role

The Church is seeking a Construction Project Manager based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to oversee the development and construction of assigned projects. Projects include new meetinghouses, church education system seminaries and small institutes, small welfare projects, and large remove-and-install (R&I) projects. The incumbent meets the department's cost, quality and timeliness objectives and works as an individual contributor.

Key responsibilities

• Manage service providers such as architects, consultants and contractors to achieve performance standards
• Analyze project information to improve cost, quality and timeline performance
• Support operations and maintenance with expertise and services as needed
• Ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of real estate properties
• Support local church leaders in solving problems within established policy
• Coordinate and collaborate with external stakeholders
• Develop professional skills and complete moderately complex duties with some independent judgment

Required profile

• 6 years of related experience, or progress toward or completion of a relevant post-secondary degree or industry-recognized certification
• Proven leadership, business, management and negotiation skills
• Able to communicate respectfully with ecclesiastical leaders, real estate representatives, architects, engineers, contractors, city officials, government agencies, neighborhood associations and zoning boards
• Good public relations skills and ability to manage people and multiple projects
• Competence in computer support services for project cost control and scheduling
• Must be an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a current temple recommend

Preferred profile

• Recognized post-secondary degree directly related to the work
• Degree in construction management, engineering or architecture (or local equivalent)
