Buyer II

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Buyer II in Santo Domingo. The role manages MRP so that material supply matches demand and supports the optimisation of the overall cost of materials. It covers supplier management, sourcing, negotiation and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Develop supply base and supply chain strategies for customer or business unit strategic materials, and work with the Purchasing Manager and SCM to meet customer needs.
• Communicate Jabil expectations to suppliers, conduct audits, visits, certifications and performance reviews, and gather feedback from Materials Planners on delivery, quality and service.
• Quote new and existing materials, frequently re-quote and negotiate to capture cost reductions, and make sourcing decisions based on price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, quality and terms.
• Negotiate terms and conditions, including liability terms, special stocking arrangements and World Wide Purchasing Agreements.
• Analyse and project component purchase prices for the Standard Costing process and help set quoted costs to customers while managing material price variance.
• Add Jabil preferred or strategic suppliers to customers' Approved Manufacturer's Lists and work with Materials Planners to monitor supplier performance.
• Follow safety, health and security policies, and may perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages and ratios, and to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to present information clearly to managers, clients and customers.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos and visual aids, and to write simple correspondence.

Required skills

• Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
• Ability to use a Windows-based operating system and related software.
