Buyer I – Procurement and Materials Planning

About the role

The Buyer I will procure all components needed to support production or prototype builds, ensuring optimal pricing, lead times, quality, delivery and inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in MPS loading decisions through proper material sizing.
• Analyze, maintain and execute Materials Requirement Plan (MRP) and monitor the materials pipeline.
• Ensure material availability to support production per the Master Production Schedule.
• Track and define customer‑liable materials and maximize negotiated supplier terms.
• Issue purchase orders according to negotiated pricing, terms and conditions.
• Optimize order management and maintain master data integrity.
• Monitor and improve supplier delivery and quality performance, using corrective action tools.
• Support Accounts Payable in resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Provide inputs for commodity and pricing strategy and give feedback on supplier performance.
• Minimize freight expenses and ensure compliance with safety, health and security policies.

Required profile

• Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, ratios and interpret graphs.
• Proficiency in basic algebra, geometry and data analysis.
• Strong presentation skills for managers, clients and public audiences.
• Problem‑definition, data collection and fact‑based conclusion skills.
• Competence with Windows‑based PC operating systems and related software.
• Advanced PC skills, including training on Jabil’s internal software packages.
• Capability to write simple correspondence and read visual aids.
• Ability to follow one‑ or two‑step instructions and handle standardized situations.
