Accounts Payable Specialist – AR Collections (Finance & Compliance)

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist with strong AR collections experience to join our finance team in the Dominican Republic. The role supports the food and consumer‑goods industry by handling cash application, collections, ERP reconciliations and reporting, ensuring smooth financial operations for products on the shelf.

Key responsibilities

• Post customer payments received via ACH, wire, checks and credit cards to the correct invoices in the ERP system.
• Reconcile daily cash receipts with bank deposits and accounting records, investigating unapplied or misapplied payments.
• Review accounts‑receivable aging reports, identify overdue balances and conduct collection activities by email and phone.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments and account status while maintaining professional relationships.
• Perform account reconciliations, support audit and compliance documentation, and generate regular finance reports.

Required profile

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash application and collections.
• Experience in food, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing or distribution is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems – experience with SAGE or InSequel is advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
