Accounts Payable Process Improvement Specialist

About the role

The Accounts Payable Process Improvement Specialist will analyze current AP workflows and design enhancements to boost efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. You will lead improvement projects, collaborate across departments, and ensure smooth implementation of new tools and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate existing accounts payable processes and pinpoint improvement opportunities.
• Lead end‑to‑end process improvement projects, delivering on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with AP teams and other functions to streamline workflows and reduce processing times.
• Develop and roll out new procedures and controls for invoice processing and payments.
• Document current processes using process‑mapping tools and propose modifications.
• Train AP staff on new processes and systems.
• Work with IT and vendors to enhance or implement AP automation tools.
• Monitor, report, and refine the effectiveness of implemented changes.
• Ensure all AP activities comply with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Support special projects by providing AP expertise.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable or process improvement.
• Strong knowledge of AP principles, regulations and best practices.
• Proven track record of managing and delivering process‑improvement initiatives.
• Fluency in English; additional languages for the EMEIA region are a plus.

Required skills

• Process‑mapping tools such as Visio or similar software.
• Accounts payable automation tools.
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
