Estimator – Commercial & Residential Projects

About the role

Prime Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Estimator to support the Director of Preconstruction. You will prepare accurate cost estimates, manage vendor and consultant contracts, and keep the preconstruction workflow smooth from takeoff to turnover for both commercial and residential projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive takeoffs and prepare accurate construction estimates for assigned projects.
• Determine labor, material, and time requirements and review specifications, change orders, drawings, and contracts.
• Enter data and vendor information into SmartBid and Project Center, and maintain contract tracking logs.
• Coordinate blueprint orders, upload and organize construction documents in AutoDesk, and manage user access in Sage.
• Support the permitting process, including filing applications and assisting the Permit Coordinator.
• Develop consultant budgets, create permit and impact‑fee budgets, and upload budget data for organizational projects.

Required profile

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and documents.
• Experience reviewing construction plans, specifications, and change orders.
• Ability to travel to local building departments for permitting as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SmartBid.
• Experience using Project Center.
• Knowledge of AutoDesk for document management.
• Familiarity with Sage software.
• Use of Wrike platform for project tracking.
