Settlement Coordinator

About the role

Americor is hiring Settlement Coordinators for its Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic office. You will work directly with U.S.-based creditors to coordinate reduced settlement agreements and make sure important details are handled accurately and efficiently. The role suits someone who communicates confidently in English, enjoys working with people and wants to develop negotiation skills.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and process reduced settlement agreements with U.S.-based creditors on behalf of clients
• Calculate settlement amounts within department guidelines
• Manage an active queue of accounts and work toward monthly production goals
• Review client accounts, available funds and account details to determine next steps
• Gather, review and submit the documentation needed for settlement approvals and payments
• Maintain accurate records of settlement activity and account updates
• Communicate clearly and professionally in English with creditors, internal teams and other stakeholders
• Follow policies, procedures and compliance requirements

Required profile

• Strong spoken and written English, able to communicate confidently with creditors and internal teams
• Good judgment, adaptability and quick thinking in changing conversations
• Goal-oriented, with the ability to meet or exceed monthly performance targets
• Attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude
• Previous experience in customer service, collections, financial services, mortgage operations, debt settlement or similar is preferred but not required
• Experience in debt settlement negotiation, back-end or recovery collections, or mortgage processing is a plus
