Senior React Native Engineer

About the role

3Pillar is hiring a Senior React Native Engineer (REQ_92) to deliver high-quality mobile code for clients while working in an agile, remote-first environment. The role combines hands-on development with client communication, planning and mentoring within an engineering practice.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate project status and recommendations with client project stakeholders.
• Write efficient, performant, testable, scalable, secure and high-quality client code.
• Take part in planning and estimation, and gather requirements and present features to clients.
• Work within the current methodology and quality standards, independently delivering projects from concept to deployment.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and managers to understand user pain points and iterate on solutions.
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Mentor others through Communities of Practice or on project teams and support the growth of technical capabilities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the listed areas.
• Experience in Agile software development.
• Proficiency in English.
• Preferred: mobile test automation, testing across Android and iOS, Android and iOS build pipelines, Bluetooth/BLE exposure, feature-flag driven delivery, and experience with an app talking to physical hardware.

• React Native and Expo at depth
• TypeScript
• React for web surfaces (Vite, Apollo client)
• Offline-first patterns: local persistence, sync queues, conflict handling
• Native module and platform-bridge familiarity
• Object-oriented programming principles (abstraction, encapsulation)
• Preferred: practical experience with AI-driven frameworks and evaluation of AI-generated outputs
