IT Support Technician

About the role

Saint George School, a British international school in Santo Domingo, DR, is looking for an IT Support Technician to provide technical support to all school faculty and staff. The role reports to the IT Manager/Director and involves keeping devices running smoothly, preparing them for each school year, maintaining an accurate IT asset inventory and supporting networking equipment and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Keep all staff and student-facing desktops, laptops, tablets, AV equipment, operating systems and applications running smoothly across offices and classrooms
• Monitor the school help desk, own tickets and set appropriate priorities with regular communication
• Prepare staff devices for distribution and organise, support and manage student devices including Chromebooks, MacBooks and iPads
• Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory and assist with AV setups for in-school events
• Maintain classroom technology, manage the mobile device management system for Apple devices and train staff
• Support WiFi, CCTV, IP telephony, cabling and switches, and repair broken devices
• Help with after-hours meetings and events

Required profile

• Degree qualified and/or relevant professional qualification and experience
• At least 2 years of experience in a technical support role
• Experience supporting macOS, iOS, Chrome OS and Windows
• Experience with Google Workspace and Office 365
• Experience in education is desirable
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection training when required
