Senior Quality Engineer – QMS & Certification

About the role

Eaton is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to lead the implementation, administration, certification readiness and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) at its DR Corporate Services facility. The role acts as designer and Subject Matter Expert for quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100 and IATF 16949, supports internal and external audits, coordinates corrective actions and works with local and global teams to build standardized, compliant processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation, governance and continuous improvement of the QMS, ensuring compliance and process standardization.
• Coordinate certification and surveillance for ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949 and other requirements, and maintain the QMS roadmap, audit calendar and readiness plan.
• Establish document control and ensure policies, procedures, work instructions and records are accurate and up to date.
• Plan and run internal audits, gap analyses, management reviews and follow-ups, and coordinate external certification audits.
• Lead the investigation and closure of nonconformities, corrective and preventive actions and audit findings.
• Monitor QMS effectiveness through KPIs, compliance metrics and audit results, and partner with process owners to standardize processes.
• Deliver bilingual training and coaching on QMS, document control and audit readiness, and collaborate with Quality, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, EHS and global CoE teams.
• Translate changes in standards and regulations into controlled documentation, and prepare reports and presentations for leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Electromechanical) or Business Administration / International Business.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in QMS, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering or regulatory compliance.
• Full bilingualism in English and Spanish.
• Preferred: postgraduate degree in Quality, Productivity or a related science, and IATF Certified Quality Improvement Associate (ASQ).

• Microsoft Office, Minitab, Power BI and AS/400.
• Lean tools, 6 Sigma and SPC.
• ISO 9001 internal auditor.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt desirable.
