Senior Buyer / Planner

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Buyer / Planner to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and scheduling of raw materials, components, packaging, and finished goods. The role ensures that materials flow efficiently through production and inventory processes while supporting the company’s mission to improve patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Source, purchase, plan, and schedule movement of raw materials, packaging, parts, components, services, supplies, and finished goods.
• Identify material and component requirements from engineering and production specifications and create appropriate schedules.
• Analyze data in a front‑end procurement mode to determine price drivers and secure the lowest cost while maintaining quality, reliability, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and engineering teams to ensure timely procurement and material movement.
• Monitor price trends, manufacturing processes, and supplier performance; collaborate on demand analysis and planning.

Required profile

• Seasoned individual contributor who works independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to coach and review work of lower‑level specialists and potentially manage projects or processes.
• Strong analytical mindset to solve complex, cross‑functional problems.
• Effective communicator with senior internal and external customers and vendors.
