Metallurgical Engineer

About the role

Unigold Inc. is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in the Dajabón Province. You will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and optimizing metallurgical processes that extract and recover metals from volcanic‑sedimentary formations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, evaluate and optimise extraction and recovery processes for metals.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot‑plant tests and analyse process data.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to geology, mining and environmental teams.
• Monitor material behaviour under operational conditions and propose improvements to processes and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout all activities.

Required profile

• Strong analytical abilities for data treatment, test‑result interpretation and technical decision‑making.
• Advanced knowledge of extractive and physical metallurgy, including process design, optimisation, concentration, leaching and metal recovery.
• Experience in materials science with the ability to evaluate mechanical, thermal and chemical properties of alloys and minerals.
• Proficiency in failure analysis, corrosion mechanisms, prevention and monitoring in mining environments.
• University degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Competence with data‑analysis and process‑simulation tools.
• Team‑player with clear communication, safety orientation and willingness to work onsite in an industrial setting.
