About the role

Hospiten is seeking a General Practitioner to provide comprehensive medical care to patients in both outpatient consultations and inpatient settings. The position is full‑time, onsite, and based in Santo Domingo.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient anamnesis, physical examinations, diagnosis, and clinical follow‑up.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate complementary tests.
• Prescribe appropriate treatments and coordinate care with other specialties when needed.
• Educate patients and families on prevention, self‑care, and disease management.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to internal protocols.
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high‑quality care.

Required profile

• University degree in Medicine with active registration and permission to practice in the Dominican Republic.
• Clinical experience in general patient care, preferably in a hospital or emergency setting.
• Competence in family medicine and primary care for adults, children, and chronic disease patients.
• Ability to work effectively with nursing and other health professionals.
• Interest in continuous education, scientific updates, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, empathy, teamwork, responsibility, and decision‑making under pressure.
