Medical Coordinator – French‑speaking Register Role

About the role

UK-Med is seeking experienced French‑speaking Medical Coordinators to join its surge responder Register. Successful candidates will lead clinical activities during humanitarian emergencies, particularly Ebola and other viral haemorrhagic fever outbreaks, and will be deployed on short‑term fixed‑term contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of medical responses, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, protocols and infection‑prevention measures.
• Guide multidisciplinary clinical teams, ministries of health, and partner organisations in the design, implementation and evaluation of emergency health services.
• Deliver training, case‑management support and technical advice to field staff.
• Assess health needs, develop response plans and monitor programme performance throughout the deployment.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing and supervising clinical teams in complex, insecure or outbreak‑affected environments.
• Strong background in emergency healthcare delivery, needs‑assessment and programme monitoring.
• Fluent French (spoken and written) with ability to work with Francophone authorities.
• Ability to work full‑time on short‑notice deployments, typically 6‑week contracts.

Required skills

• Clinical oversight and infection‑prevention expertise.
• Technical knowledge of Ebola, viral haemorrhagic fever and other infectious disease response protocols.
