Manual QA Engineer / Data Quality Analyst

About the role

3Pillar is looking for a Data Quality Analyst (Manual QA Engineer) to join its team and help ensure that clinical trial projects and data systems meet high standards of quality, reliability and accuracy. The role goes beyond traditional testing: it is about guarding data quality and delivering flawless data products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the execution of testing strategies to validate data reports, exports and end-of-study deliverables.
• Ensure report requirements and data transfer specifications are clear, testable, proofread and consistent with clinical trial protocols.
• Perform accurate data entry and generate positive and negative test cases covering system validation scenarios.
• Run qualification testing on data mapping and exports, and verify customer data clarification requests.
• Document and track defects to resolution while following applicable processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in software quality assurance, data testing or related fields.
• Exceptional written and verbal English, with strong communication across team members, stakeholders and customers.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, clinical trial protocols, data transfer specifications or regulatory compliance is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA and structured test documentation.
• Additional experience with Salesforce, SAS or Python is a plus.
