Managed Services Engineer – VMware & Windows Server

About the role

The Managed Services Engineer provides remote technical support for server and storage equipment at customer sites, primarily within manufacturing data centers. The role bridges industrial automation and IT, ensuring reliable operation of Windows Server and VMware environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver remote troubleshooting and support via phone and email for Rockwell Automation field service personnel, distributors, integrators, and end‑customers.
• Maintain and modify Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and related directory services.
• Manage VMware products including vCenter, ESXi 6.x+, Horizon View, and vSAN in production environments.
• Investigate and verify reported software, firmware, hardware, and documentation issues, documenting actions in internal systems.
• Author and update technical notes, work‑arounds, and best‑practice documentation for global teams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize and resolve multiple concurrent issues under pressure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a VMware engineer in a production setting.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• VMware vCenter, ESXi (6.x+), Horizon View, vSAN.
• Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
• Microsoft IIS.
• SAN/vSAN architecture knowledge.
• Programming/scripting: Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
