Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will drive the development and improvement of complex mechanical products and processes within Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division. You will assess feasibility, ensure technical soundness, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions that meet customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of new or improved mechanical products, ensuring cost‑effective manufacturing and quality.
• Coordinate project activities with engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to resolve design conflicts and meet project timelines.
• Review and validate project documentation, technical specifications, and test results.
• Manage certification processes, deviation control, and laboratory testing.
• Generate project reports, support capital requests, and use PRO Launch for product introductions.
• Execute monthly safety inspections and support EHS training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electronic, Electromechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as PROE, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
• Experience with MS Office and AS400.
• Knowledge of SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO 9001 standards.
