Lead Facilities Technician

About the role

The Lead Facilities Technician will oversee the maintenance, refurbishment and operational readiness of Convatec’s buildings, facilities and equipment. This senior role combines hands‑on technical work with planning, design and coordination of external contractors to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, design and plan refurbishment projects for buildings and facilities.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on structures, machinery and equipment.
• Supervise and coordinate work related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, carpentry and masonry tasks.
• Install, replace, clean, and repair components and equipment.
• Liaise with external contractors for maintenance, design and refurbishment activities.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff and ensure compliance with operational procedures.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience in facilities maintenance and refurbishment.
• Vocational or technical education in a related field.
• Ability to work with limited supervision on routine tasks.
• Strong analytical skills to address non‑routine problems.
• Capability to mentor and train lower‑level employees.
