Ingredient Sourcing Specialist

About the role

Outsourcing Advantage is looking for an experienced Ingredient Sourcing Specialist to join its remote team. You will support food product development, R&D, and commercial production initiatives for a US‑based client by identifying and securing the right raw materials.

Key responsibilities

• Source food ingredients, dairy components, additives, stabilizers, packaging materials and other raw materials from qualified domestic and international suppliers.
• Research and identify ingredient manufacturers, distributors and suppliers worldwide.
• Obtain pricing, lead times, MOQs, specifications, COAs and technical documentation.
• Coordinate ingredient sample requests for R&D and product testing.
• Compare suppliers on quality, certifications, pricing and availability.
• Assist with ingredient substitutions and alternative sourcing solutions.
• Maintain supplier databases, sourcing records and support procurement of packaging components.
• Build and maintain relationships with ingredient manufacturers, distributors and brokers.
• Monitor ingredient availability, market trends and pricing.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing or supply chain, preferably in the food industry.
• Proven experience sourcing food ingredients, raw materials or specialty food components.
• Strong online research and supplier sourcing abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor communication skills.
• High attention to detail, organization and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Fluent written and spoken English (CEFR C1 or equivalent).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets.
