Full Stack Engineer

About the role

Cruz-Ayala, a Dominican company supplying equipment, supplies and solutions for clinical laboratories and healthcare institutions, is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to work exclusively on its proprietary internal software platform. The platform connects business information, departmental tools, reporting and automation across sales, finance, inventory, logistics and technical service, helping teams coordinate work and make better decisions. The role is dedicated software development, not IT support, and is based at the Santiago de los Caballeros branch with full-time on-site availability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve frontend interfaces and backend functionality according to defined business needs.
• Build and maintain APIs and integrations so information flows accurately between systems.
• Develop dashboards, reports, workflows, notifications and automation that reduce repetitive work.
• Use AI coding tools effectively, while independently reviewing, testing and understanding the generated code.
• Investigate bugs, test changes and improve performance and usability.
• Write readable, documented code, use version control consistently and collaborate with project leadership.

Required profile

• Approximately 2 years of hands-on web development experience, or equivalent shown through completed projects; improving an existing application is valued.
• Ability to understand, explain, test and maintain delivered code, and to handle company information and credentials responsibly.
• On-site availability in Santiago de los Caballeros, with travel to the Santo Domingo branch when needed, including overnight stays, at company expense.

Required skills

• Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript, React and Next.js, with HTML and CSS.
• Backend: Node.js, server-side logic and REST APIs, including validation, error handling, authentication and external connections.
• AI-assisted coding: hands-on use of tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot, with critical review of results.
• Databases: SQL and relational databases, including queries, relationships and basic design.
• Version control with Git, debugging, testing, deployment basics and security awareness.

Advantages include English proficiency, SAP Business One or ERP integration experience, Tailwind CSS, Power BI, workflow automation or cloud deployment, and a degree in software development or computer science.
