About the role

The Specialist – Category Management will join Barrick's Supply Chain team at the Pueblo Viejo mine in the Dominican Republic. The role is responsible for executing sourcing initiatives, monitoring contract performance, and ensuring cost‑effective procurement while mitigating commercial and operational risks.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned sourcing projects according to the contract plan, meeting timelines, achieving savings, and automating purchase order processes.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies, lead tender processes, negotiate, award, and sign contracts for material supply.
• Prepare and monitor contract reports to identify expiring agreements and take actions to maintain commercial continuity.
• Review and approve price variations in contracts based on agreed mechanisms and update the contract management system.
• Coordinate and facilitate contract performance review meetings, monitoring KPIs by supplier segment.

Required profile

• Graduate in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Law, Economics or related fields.
• At least 2 years of experience in commercial areas such as tendering, negotiations, contract award and performance monitoring.
• Bilingual Spanish/English (intermediate preferred).
