Engineering Manager

About the role

Arjo is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its engineering function in Bajos de Haina, San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic. The company designs patient handling equipment, medical beds, hygiene and disinfection products and other solutions for people with mobility challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and organise the engineering function.
• Monitor, analyse and report manufacturing variances of the business.
• Ensure optimal material yield by improving production processes.
• Discuss and define project specifications.
• Improve existing product manufacturing methods through lean manufacturing, selecting the right equipment and tooling.
• Coordinate activities to support new product launch and ensure a smooth transition from development to production.
• Ensure proper validation of processes, machinery and software as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering; Master's in Administration or Manufacturing preferred.
• 7-9 years of experience in process and/or manufacturing engineering in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of new process development, project management, ISO or FDA quality systems and manufacturing processes.
• 5 years of management experience in manufacturing environments and/or medical device companies.
• English proficiency.
