Engineering I, Project - Medical Device Manufacturing

About the role

Baxter is looking for an Engineering I, Project engineer at its Haina plant to support the introduction, improvement and validation of medical device manufacturing processes. The role drives technical execution through engineering studies, process development and small-scale projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust process performance, seamless product transfers and compliance with quality, regulatory and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support the identification of manufacturing issues and respond to production requests with timely engineering assistance.
• Assist in implementing process and product design changes, material evaluations and manufacturing techniques, applying basic project management principles.
• Take part in developing new products and processes from concept through introduction into manufacturing.
• Support process and product validations using local or external engineering resources, aligned with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and execute validation activities (FOC/COB) with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and other stakeholders.
• Support standard cost reviews, quotations, continuous improvement and new product launch activities.
• Contribute to Value Improvement Projects (VIP) by analysing processes and supporting the Haina plant VIP program.
• Analyse process and product performance using Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
• Support product transfers from divisional or international sites to the Haina facility.
• Comply with EHS requirements, identify hazards and risks, and ensure personnel under supervision receive appropriate training.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least two years of experience in engineering, manufacturing or a related technical field.
• Bilingual Spanish and English, oral and written.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking and communication skills; able to work under pressure and in ambiguous situations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Knowledge of Intranet, PowerPoint, Excel and related tools.
• Basic project management knowledge and ability to support small-scale engineering initiatives.
