Engineer I Mechanical Engineering IX

About the role

Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support new product introductions and manufacturing feasibility studies. The role involves creating and updating product models, drawings, and bills of materials while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing capabilities and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical and manufacturing feasibility evaluations for new products.
• Create and modify product models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using CAD software.
• Support prototype production, new manufacturing technologies, and test execution.
• Optimize product designs for manufacturability and obtain necessary customer approvals.
• Implement design changes to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Train new team members and act as the primary technical contact for the assembly team.
• Maintain documentation for approved deviations from customer drawings.
• Upload and manage product data in PD Cloud.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience in product development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, KVP, and DTC.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience managing product data in PD Cloud.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with 5S, KVP and DTC methodologies.
