Director of Sales (Hotel Opening)

About the role

The Director of Sales will lead the sales and marketing function for the new Hyatt Place hotel in Santo Domingo Piantini. Reporting to the General Manager and Regional Vice President of Sales, this senior position sits on the Executive Committee and works closely with senior and corporate leadership to drive revenue and guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to maximize revenue, market share and profitability across all hotel segments.
• Lead the annual business planning process, including budget development, revenue forecasting and market analysis.
• Oversee the sales and marketing budget, P&L, advertising, marketing initiatives and business‑plan creation.
• Supervise sales managers, trainees, interns and administrative staff; recruit, hire and coach sales talent.
• Manage group and transient contractual agreements, rate quoting, referrals, retention, reactivation and acquisition accounts.
• Partner with Revenue Management and hotel leadership to optimize pricing, business mix and overall revenue performance.
• Maintain accountability for group, catering, leisure, business transient and overall sales objectives.

Required profile

• Proven senior sales leadership experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to influence senior and corporate leadership and work as part of an Executive Committee.
• Experience recruiting, training and developing high‑performing sales teams.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on market trends and revenue opportunities.
