Director, Commerce Systems & Technology (Remote)

About the role

Trolley, a fast-growing remote creative operations company, is hiring a Director, Commerce Systems & Technology. You will lead commerce and enterprise technology: the Shopify storefronts, NetSuite and the integrations that connect them to Amazon, wholesale, retail stores and 3PLs. You own the systems and the data underneath, while Operations and Finance own the business rules. You work with the Co-CEOs and the executive team, and manage the development partner and systems vendors. IT support and cybersecurity stay with the current IT team. The role is remote, paid $6,000 to $7,500 USD per month, with 6 hours of overlap with Pacific Time required.

Key responsibilities

• Own Shopify storefronts, including checkout, apps, performance, uptime and releases, with the development partner held to clear scope, priorities and budget.
• Ensure launch readiness for peak periods, product drops and campaigns, with site performance standards, incident triage and published root-cause reviews.
• Manage content management, product information, on-site search, tracking tags and email/SMS integrations so editorial content can launch without engineering help.
• Own NetSuite and its integrations with Shopify, 3PLs, Amazon, wholesale EDI and retail POS, with exception alerts for failed orders.
• Maintain accurate item, cost, inventory and customer data across NetSuite, Shopify, the 3PLs and stores.
• Manage store systems and cross-channel fulfillment, including point of sale, buy online pick up in store, ship-from-store, clienteling tools and reliable EDI orders, ship notices and invoices.
• Publish a technology roadmap tied to business goals, with one intake process for requests and a systems and access hub; document every system and stabilize Shopify-NetSuite order flow within 90 days.
• Set safe controls for AI agents using the systems and data, plus Notion, SaaS contracts and renewals, together with the IT and cybersecurity lead.

Required profile

• Experience leading ecommerce technology, business systems or enterprise applications at a physical consumer goods brand with DTC, retail and wholesale channels and 3PL fulfillment.
• Hands-on delivery: configuring, troubleshooting, writing specs and reviewing a partner's code, turning business needs into clear requirements and delivery dates.
• Strong project management, plain-language explanation of technical trade-offs, cost-consciousness and discretion with customer, payment and financial data.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Nice to have: experience at a beauty, fashion or wellness brand, and conversion and A/B testing experience.

Required skills

• Deep Shopify Plus and hands-on NetSuite expertise across orders, inventory, purchasing and the general ledger.
• Celigo or similar integration platforms, EDI, 3PL integrations, Amazon Seller Central, headless content management and search tools.
• High-traffic launches and advanced use of AI in daily work, including familiarity with AI tools and APIs in commerce and operations.
