About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator System seeks an experienced individual consultant to produce the final Country Analysis for the Dominican Republic. The deliverable will be a publicly‑available report, an analytical database, and editable tools that enable the UN Country Team to continuously monitor development trajectories and inform the next Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a comprehensive Country Analysis report covering development pathways, structural drivers, inequalities, normative commitments, emerging trends, risks, opportunities, actors, capacities, alliances, and financing landscapes.
• Integrate systems analysis, strategic foresight, emerging signals, and multidimensional risk assessment while ensuring cross‑cutting attention to human rights, gender equality and the "leave no one behind" principle.
• Utilise national evidence, reliable studies and UN sources, avoiding duplication of existing analyses.
• Deliver the final report, analytical base and editable instruments ready for institutional validation.
• Coordinate hybrid work arrangements and occasional travel within the Dominican Republic as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in country‑level development analysis, preferably within the UN system.
• Strong understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and UN cooperation frameworks.
• Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, policy‑relevant narratives.
• Excellent written communication in English and Spanish.
