Buyer II - Supply Chain

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Buyer II responsible for managing MRP so that material supply matches demand and helps optimise the overall cost of materials. The role develops supply base and supply chain strategies for strategic materials, works with suppliers and supports customer business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop supply base and supply chain strategies for customer-specific or business unit strategic materials, and communicate Jabil's expectations to suppliers
• Conduct supplier audits, visits, certifications and performance reviews, and gather feedback from Materials Planners on delivery, quality and service
• Quote new and existing materials, negotiate prices, terms and conditions and liability terms, and work with the Materials Quotation Analyst
• Analyse and project component purchase prices for the Standard Costing process and help set quoted costs to customers while improving Materials Price Variance
• Work with the Business Unit Manager to get customer authorisation for additional expenses such as material premiums, freight and tooling charges
• Support Jabil SCM initiatives, improve sourcing options and add preferred or strategic suppliers to the customer's Approved Manufacturer's List
• Follow safety, health and security policies, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages and rates, and to draw and interpret graphs
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos and visual aids, and to write simple correspondence

Required skills

• Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil's software packages
• Ability to use a Windows-based operating system and related software
