Buyer II – Strategic Materials Procurement

About the role

The Buyer II is responsible for managing material requirements planning (MRP) to align supply with demand while optimizing overall material costs. This role supports customers and business units by delivering strategic sourcing solutions and ensuring supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute supply base and supply‑chain strategies tailored to customer and business‑unit needs.
• Collaborate with Purchasing Manager and SCM to determine optimal sourcing approaches.
• Conduct supplier audits, certifications, and performance reviews; provide continuous feedback.
• Quote new and existing materials, negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost reductions.
• Analyze component purchase prices and contribute to standard costing and quoted cost calculations.
• Work with Materials Planners to monitor supplier performance and support overall business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and security policies.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and other financial figures.
• Experience in supplier management, negotiations, and strategic sourcing.
• Knowledge of MRP processes and standard costing methodologies.
