Bilingual Medical Scribe (English/Spanish)

About the role

AVLO Health is hiring an experienced bilingual medical scribe for its team in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The position is in person, pays $9-$10 USD per hour, and offers multiple shifts, including 10-12-hour shifts around the clock, 7 days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Document patient encounters accurately and in real time, including medical history, physical examinations, procedures, assessments and treatment plans.
• Work with healthcare providers to keep electronic health records (EHR) complete, timely and accurate.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date patient records and review them for accuracy and consistency.
• Use appropriate medical terminology and follow clinical documentation procedures.
• Protect patient information and keep it confidential in line with applicable privacy requirements, including HIPAA.
• Communicate clearly with providers and clinical staff to support efficient patient care.

Required profile

• A medical doctor (MD) degree or equivalent medical degree is highly preferred.
• At least 2 years of previous clinical experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Experience using EHR systems; eClinicalWorks experience is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation and healthcare workflows.
• Excellent typing speed, listening skills, attention to detail and written communication.
• Professionalism and discretion with confidential patient information.
