AML Compliance Manager

About the role

Transi is a fintech company focused on helping Latin American immigrants in the United States with secure, user-friendly cross-border payments. It is hiring a full-time, on-site AML Compliance Manager in Santo Domingo to oversee the design, implementation and ongoing improvement of its Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance program.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor transactions and alerts, review and escalate suspicious activity, and carry out enhanced due diligence
• Ensure policies and procedures stay aligned with applicable laws and regulatory expectations
• Prepare reports and metrics for leadership
• Coordinate internal audits and regulatory examinations
• Train team members on AML, Know Your Customer (KYC) and financial crime prevention
• Work with operations, product and risk teams to embed compliance into new features and processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Economics or a related field
• Relevant compliance or AML certifications (e.g. CAMS) are a plus
• Prior experience in fintech, payments or financial services is preferred
• Professional fluency in English; Spanish is highly beneficial

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions and financial crime regulations relevant to fintech and cross-border payments
• Experience designing, implementing or managing AML programs, including policies, procedures and controls
• Ability to analyze transaction data, investigate alerts and document conclusions
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, risk assessments, customer due diligence and reporting requirements (e.g. SAR/STR)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization and attention to detail
